The Fire Danger Rating for the Northeast Region is still HIGH. The Washington Commissioner of Public Lands issued a Commissioner’s Burn Ban Order to be in effect from September 25 – 30, 2020. DNR uses burn restrictions and when conditions warrant, a Commissioner Order Burn Ban, as a tool to reduce human-caused wildfires during extremely hot and dry weather conditions. Even though the Commissioner’s Burn Ban Order will have elapsed, a burn restriction is still in place prohibiting outdoor fires on state, county, city, and private land in our area under DNR fire protection. Restricting campfires and debris-burning helps to reduce the likelihood of potentially destructive and dangerous wildfires.

For any questions relating to possible burn restrictions within the Colville National Forest, contact the Colville National Forest online, or call (509) 684-7000.
